Cheap I Pod Classic

By Sean Goudelocks

The iPod Classic is perfect for those who just want a small, portable media player that fits in any pocket. The iPod Classic retains then look of the classic iPod, even though it is a 6th generation iPod. You might think that not much has changed and not much was improved in the iPod Classic, but there are actually a lot of improvements in this latest redesign of the iPod. This device has been available for quite some time now, so it is easy to find a cheap iPod Classic at various online stores. If you already found a cheap iPod Classic but you’re still unsure whether you’ll buy it or not, then this review may be able to help you make a decision.

Many people believe that not much has been improved in the 6th Generation iPod Classic, but Apple has actually made plenty of improvements in this latest version. Some of the improvements were disliked by some people, so it really depends on you whether you’ll consider them as improvements or not. One of the most notable improvements is the increased storage capacity. The 6th Gen iPod Classic has a larger storage space (80GB and 160GB) than the previous version and is also cheaper. The largest storage capacity of the previous version was 80 GB, while the largest storage capacity of the Classic is 160 GB. The bigger storage space is the biggest appeal of the Classic. Another notable improvement is the body of the iPod Classic. This latest version is made of anodized aluminum. The previous version was made of polycarbonate plastic. The new body makes the new Classic feel sturdier and nice to touch. The battery life was also greatly improved in the new version, with up to 36 hours music playback and about 6 hours video playback.

One of the improvements that were disliked by some people is the new interface. One of the features of the new interface is the Cover Flow. Cover Flow is used for viewing your songs and albums and also shows the album artwork (if available). Apple decided to add the Cover Flow view feature on the new iPod Classic, but without the touch ability. So the result is a slower, clumsier version of the Cover Flow that makes you feel that it does not belong to the Classic. Also, if your albums do not have any artwork, the interface looks less attractive than the previous interface. Some people liked the new Cover Flow, while some did not, so it really depends on you whether you’ll consider it as an improvement. The new interface has more graphics, but it is a bit slower than the previous interface.

Overall, if you need more storage capacity, then you should definitely get yourself a 6th Generation iPod Classic. The new interface looks fancier, but it is less functional and slower than the previous interface. But if you don’t care about the new interface and just want more storage space and more hours of music/video playback, then get the new iPod Classic.
